Lake Residence

This lake residence is a new family home on a beautiful site nestled into the trees yet offering wide sunset views. The house is conceived as a low, private retreat from the street offering glimpses through to the water, as well as views of the wood and stone masses that form the core of the home – the kitchen and the hearth. The low entry gives way to a striking roof overhang visible from the lake that allows for high southern light and fantastic lake views.

The family wanted a home uniquely designed for them with a primary living space on the main level that still felt connected to the lake below. They also wanted plenty of storage easily accessed from the lake for things like kayaks and life jackets. We designed a main level living space with a large fireplace at its core that opens directly to a patio through large lift-slide doors. The patio, with a wide stair leading directly down to the beach, will be a wonderful place to enjoy the lake. Lake storage tucks under one end of the residence and will conveniently open on sunny beach days with its own glass and aluminum overhead door.

This home is currently under construction and is scheduled to be completed in Summer 2017.
