Ellen Pritz

Ellen is an interior designer at MATHISON | MATHISON ARCHITECTS.

At the forefront of Ellen’s design process is functionality, thoughtfulness and timelessness. Her approach to design enhances life instead of inhibiting it. She believes seamless and beautiful design is found through the small details.

Ellen grew up in Leland, Michigan and later moved to Chicago where she graduated from Columbia College Chicago with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture. During her time there she studied abroad in Dublin, Ireland and focused on furniture design.

After graduating she moved to Denver, Colorado where she started her career in interior design and architecture. She worked on a variety of projects there ranging from high rise buildings in Asia to residential mountain homes.

She and her then fiance Tommy then decided to move back to Michigan to be closer to family, landing in Grand Rapids. Ellen worked at a local firm where projects spanned from education, to medical, corporate and residential.

Commitment to design and a growing dynamic team drew her to MMA.

Outside of work, Ellen and Tommy spend time with family and friends, traveling, exploring new restaurants, skiing, running and listening to live music.
