The bus garage replaced an existing, smaller building, allowing the school district to store, repair, and maintain their own buses on site, as well as wash them inside with a new power-wash system. The new garage is located in a wooded area uphill from the existing garage and is hidden from view for most of the year. The site includes sufficient area for bus parking, car parking, site drainage, and bus drives around the entire building. The bus garage also contains the maintenance offices for the district, and provides a location for bus drivers to gather for meetings and training. The building includes hydraulic lifts for buses and trucks to allow for easy maintenance underneath the buses, as well as radiant-heated concrete floors to keep them warm and dry. The garage also includes a storage mezzanine for equipment and materials, as well as natural clerestory light at the primary workbench area.
