Alongside lead designers Annum Architects, MMA is working closely with the museum to celebrate one of the most beloved art collections in Michigan, and to foster education and cultural enrichment with a wide variety of newly programmed space. The new façade is composed of glass, a locally fabricated metal skin, and spot-iron brick, which serve as a contrasting complement to the original building’s historic limestone cladding. When complete, the newly renovated Muskegon Museum of Art will not only be a vibrant landmark for Muskegon but will stand out nationally as a leading-edge institution in a uniquely American mid-sized city.
