In the highly used entry to the house, the existing spaces were fractured and small, with adjacent spaces equally as small and at a different level than the main house. The project only included about 1,000 square feet, but the removal of select internal walls created an expanded kitchen with views to an adjacent park that had been previously out of sight. A new bathroom is conveniently located with direct access to the pool area and a new mudroom has plenty of storage for an active family. The expanded kitchen has a broad view of the adjacent dining room, where the ceilings have been opened up to create new interior volume to add to the spaciousness of the interior. The new kitchen and renovated areas are modern and bright, while the home’s exterior retains all of the details and character of the original house.
