Calvary Baptist Church’s original building was built in 1980 and remained largely unchanged since then. They engaged MMA to completely refresh the sanctuary to focus on a single, simplified center of attention for Christian worship, supplemented by improved lighting, technology, and new seating. The lobby was renovated and expanded, adding café and lounge functions, as well as expanded and reorganized rest rooms.

Flexible seating allows the sanctuary to be used for multiple functions, such as worship, banquets, and conferences. The renovation also included expanded, refreshed toilet rooms, as well as larger, more comfortable lobby space to welcome members and guests, with a new air-lock vestibule and ADA automatic door operator. The new portico / canopy provides weather protection for three lanes of traffic at the front entry for the convenience and safety of members and guests. Pavement and sidewalk levels are the same, allowing smooth barrier-free access by all. The portico also included a new vestibule space and barrier free doors for easy access to all.
