The client reached out to Mathison | Mathison Architects (MMA) to conduct a study to explore options to economically add a second story to the building, while preserving the modern character and functionality of the original architecture, and take advantage of views of the adjacent park. Using contemporary metal cladding and designing a roof line that mimicked the existing roofline helped this proposed expansion fit naturally with the current building’s aesthetic, while also giving it a fresh and updated appearance.
