Conceived with a modern aesthetic, Riverglass has a focus on high performance by means of a double-layer, super-insulated envelope, triple pane windows and doors, solar arrays, green roof, and passive heating and cooling with integrated shading controls. This all-steel frame building includes radiant concrete floors and Zehnder energy recovery ventilators.
The house is designed for entertaining large groups, and includes an elegant panoramic social living room and dedicated support areas. Private family spaces are focused on selective western views across the river with direct access to outdoor covered patio areas and a pool. The children’s area upstairs has its own roof deck and can be closed off completely during entertainment events.
The master suite has its own level, with panoramic views of the water. The top level includes office spaces, a spa and exercise room with a roof deck and outside sauna. With limited views to the street, the south-facing street elevation captures natural light through high clerestory windows.
The entry volume makes a dramatic statement with a sculptural three-story slice of space through the building that separates public and private spaces on the main level, with glass bridges that connect the private upper floors across the open and naturally lit volume.
